何朝宗為中國明代瓷塑家。（1522-1600年）何朝宗生活在明代嘉靖，萬歷年間。自幼受環(huán)境熏陶，喜愛瓷塑工藝，拜當(dāng)?shù)厝藶閹?。早年為宮廟泥塑各種神仙佛像。他的瓷塑作品，吸收泥塑，木雕和石刻造像的各種技法，結(jié)合瓷土特性，博取各家之長。他所塑造的的各種古佛神仙，發(fā)揮傳統(tǒng)雕塑傳神寫意的長處，微妙地表現(xiàn)人物內(nèi)心世界，富有神韻。在注意人物內(nèi)在表現(xiàn)的同時(shí)，著意外表的衣紋刻畫，線條清晰，簡潔，瀟灑，多變化，柔媚流暢，翻轉(zhuǎn)自然，圓勁有力。塑造的形象既有共同特征，又有不同個(gè)性，形神兼?zhèn)?，富有藝術(shù)魅力。清乾隆《泉州府志卷六十六-明-藝術(shù)》載：“有何朝宗者，不知何許人，或云祖貫德化，善陶瓷像，天下傳寶之?！薄稌x江縣志》亦載：“有何朝宗者，善制陶像，人掙寶之?！焙纬谥绊懸鄰V播海外，泉州自宋即為重要海港，德化窯亦隨之海外。其在明代進(jìn)入鼎盛時(shí)期，胎質(zhì)釉色與造型技法皆極其勝，無可出其右者，故為世所珍，被英國漢學(xué)家波西耳贊為世界白瓷之母，亦稱中國白。

Quanzhou has been an important seaport since the Song Dynasty, and Dehua Kiln has also sold well overseas. In the Ming Dynasty, when it entered its heyday, fetal enamel and modeling techniques were extremely successful and had no right. Therefore, they were honored by the world and were praised by the famous British sinologist Posey as the mother of the world's white porcelain, also known as China White.
